People in Bury will have the chance to buy cut-price new homes in the town after Persimmon announced a new scheme to allow locals to get a discount on developments.
The housebuilder, which has been significantly boosted by the government’s Help to Buy programme, has joined up with Bury Council to give people in the Greater Manchester authority access to a 25 per cent discount on properties.
Sales director David Hodgson said: “At Scholars View there are homes for everyone – from single professionals and first time buyers, to growing families and downsizers.”
Mr Hodgson added that the development consists of two, three and four bedroom homes and is only a short distance away from a number of large parks – as well as shopping centres and leisure facilities.
The discount arranged by Bury Council will allow people in the town to buy a three-bedroom house for £116,246, although if they use the Help to Buy mortgage scheme, this will reduce even further – with only a £5,812 deposit needed.
